Verkeyenko Vitaly Vasilyevich

Vitaly Vasilyevich Verkeyenko was born in Dresden, East Germany, on 1 March 1973, to a family of military serviceman. 

Upon completing full course of state and municipal administration at the Far Eastern State University, Vitaly Verkeyenko graduated in 1997 and earned a degree in political science and law. He also graduated from Higher School of Management of Saint Petersburg State University.

Beginning his professional career in 1993, Mr. Verkeyenko from 1995 to 2001 worked at Far East Regional Commercial Security Association “Dalrass”, where he advanced from consultant level to deputy CEO.

In 2001, Vitaly Verkeyenko established “Hino Vladivostok” company and acted as its head until 2008. In 2009 he established “Technoholding Sumotori” company and launched several large-scale international projects, including those within “Nadezhdinskaya” Advanced Development Zone and Vladivostok Free Port. He also served as a member of expert groups and civic councils responsible for federal legislative proposals. Mr. Verkeyenko was the head of “Sumotori” Group until 2017. In 2011 he established “Primring” Tourism & Entertainment Center and remained its CEO until 2017.

Vitaly Verkeyenko was a member of civic expert councils under the governor of Primorsky Krai, and participated in the regional government’s efforts to introduce project management into its administration framework. He also acted as Chair of the Board of Pacific Tourism Alliance, member of Civic Chamber of Primorsky Krai and co-founder of “Obereg” charity foundation.

On 21 December, 2017, Vitaly Verkeyenko was elected Mayor of Vladivostok.
